WARNING: Your Freedom of Health is at Risk!

Here at Bioletics, we've noticed that dietary supplements and their proponents have been receiving some negative press lately.  And we thought you should know that these misguided journalistic efforts may be linked to a larger and even more nefarious plan--a plan that would virtually eliminate the production and sale of vitamins and other nutrients in America.

Want to preserve your right to take nutritional supplements? Then you must be prepared to fight back against the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) latest assault against dietary supplements. If implemented, the FDA's measures (which would remove nutritional products from the market under the guise of protecting your personal health and safety), will result in a universal ban on the production of sports performance supplements. Omega 3 fish oils, vitamin D formuals and natural plant extracts, among many other important nutrients, will no longer be available.

Proposed guidelines put forth by the agency for "New Dietary Ingredients" (NDI's) propose treating vitamins, herbs, and dietary supplements as synthetic food preservatives, which means pulling many of them off the market and subjecting the rest to extreme regulatory protocols.  While many brands (especially those sold at bargain basement prices) may not be as effective as they should be, the blanket elimination of ALL nutritional supplements appears to be an extreme and desperate attempt to eliminate our collective ability as free-thinking men and women to make non-pharmacutical health and wellness choices.

While its difficult to believe that this could actually happen in America (our beloved Land of the Free), similar goverment policies have already been enacted throughout Europe where hundreds, if not thousands, of nutritional supplements and natural herbal remedies can no longer be sold.

The current NDI proposal boils down to the FDA's goal of following Codex Alimentarius provisions that categorize and treat nutrients like toxins.  The disastrous implications of the Codex vitamin and mineral guidelines include establishing what appear to be relatively nebulous "upper safe levels" of vitamins and minerals, while subjecting them to the same toxicologic risk assessment protocols as deadly substances like lead and mercury.  For the unsettling details, click here: http://www.ahha.org/CodexGuidelines.htm.

What can you do?  Spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors. And become more familiar with the The Life Extension Foundation's set of measures that all of us need to be prepared to take in order to stop the FDA from banning the sale and use of nutritional supplements: http://www.capwiz.com/lef/issues/alert/?alertid=51641606&type=CO.

In addition, the Alliance for Natural Health USA has set up a call-in day to Congress on Thursday, September 8, 2011. ANH-USA (http://www.anh-usa.org) is asking the entire natural health community to call their Congressmen on this day and demand that FDA's NDI proposals be stopped. Please consider making at least one phone call on this day.

The passing of the DSHEA Act in the early 1990's proves that a massive public response can be effective in protecting our basic and fundamental freedom to the nutritional supplements of our choice.  Now is the time, once again, to let our voices be heard.
